Thinking Thursday
The Sound of Silencing: On patriarchy, power and the voices they try to shatter.
Today I’m thinking about silence—the kind that isn’t natural, but manufactured.
Survivors stood at the Capitol this week, speaking truths that should have been amplified, carried, protected. Instead, their voices were drowned out by the roar of fighter jets—patriotic theater swallowing human pain.
And I can’t help but wonder: you would think these men, this government—so determined to subjugate women while demanding that we carry their legacies—would have the common sense to treat us with dignity. That would require believing women are more than wombs. More than objects for pleasure, control, or politics.
The jets made the noise. But the silencing? That’s always been deliberate.💎
Thinking Thursday is about pausing and questioning. What does this moment make you think about?”
